For today, I wanted to share with you “Nani Nani“, a deep psychedelic Afro Soul Jazz Funk track with Dogon (Malian ethnic group) Folklore influences, recorded in 1979 by the mythical Malian composer & musician Bourama “Sory” Bamba on the legendary French record label “Sonafric“.

Marvelous Holygrail record from star to finish, pivotal piece of the history of the Malian music, hope you’ll like it – Enjoy !

For today, I wanted to share with you “Mambo Marie Madeleine Houi Bin“, a mind-blowing deep melancholic Afro Soul Jazz track with gorgeous horns & Latin flavors, taken from one of the first albums recorded by the Ivorian composer Okoi Seka Athanase in 1977.

For today, I wanted to share with you “Tessassategn Eko“, an sweet Ethio Soul Jazz track with Jerk flavors, taken from the 1st single recorded in 1973 by the Ethiopian composer & singer Bahta Gebre Hiwot, with the help from Gebreab Tefera (words) & Girma Beyene (musical arrangements).

It was released in 1973 on “Amha Records“, prominent & legendary record label owned by Amha Eshete and that released 103 Ethiopian singles and 10 albums between 1969 & 1975, including some by mythical musiciansMahmoud Ahmed or Mulatu Astatke.

Those Ethio gems are getting harder & harder to find, especially in such clean condition, hope you’ll enjoy it !

Following this former article, I wanted to share with you “Yaye Boul Ma Bayi“, an outstanding deep Psychedelic 70s Afro Mbalax Fusion Soul Jazz track, taken from the first album from the legendary Gambian band “Guelewar Band Of Banjul” recorded in 1981.

Leaded by the Gambian composer & musician Laaye N’Gom, the group included many mythical Gambian & Senegalese musicians such :

– Leader, Vocals, Keyboards, Conductor, Liner Notes : Laaye N’Gom ;

– Vocals : Moussa N’Gom ;

– Alto Saxophone : Bas Lo Fara Biram ;

– Bass : Njok Malick Mike Njie ;

– Drums : Oussou Ndiaye ;

– Guitar : Moussa Njobdi Njie ;

– Percussion : Adu Salla, Alive Badara Cham N’Gom, Koto Suno Icoto N’Gom ;

– Tenor Saxophone : Laaye Sallah Ombor ;

One of the best Gambian ever recorded, really hard to find nowadays, hope you’ll like it – Enjoy !

Following this former article, I wanted to share with you for today “Balade Dans La Foret D’Ajoupa Bouillon“, an incredible bewitching Soul Jazz Folk track with deep percussions from Martinique (French West Indies), taken from the first LP from the legendary flutist & poet Max Cilla recorded in 1981 on the French label “Apia“.

Backing Max Cilla, this album features many mythical musicians :

– Claude Vamur : Drums ;

– Sully Cally : Percussion [Tambour Bel Air] ;

Following this former article, I wanted to share with you for today “Karma“, an outstanding blend of Cadence Soul Funk Latin Synth Jazz & Fusion influences, taken from the 3rd album recorded in 1975 by the mythical musician, painter, sculptor and ceramist Henri Guedon from Martinique, considered by most as the grandfather of modern music from French West Indies.

This album includes :

– Henri Guedon : Leader, Lead Vocals, Agogô, Cowbell, Kalimba, Spoons, Helicon, Skratjie, Percussion, Handclaps, Guimbarde, Bombo, Balafon ;

Fairuz – Habbeytak Bessayf / حبيتك بالصيف

Following to this former article, I wanted to share with you for today “Habbeytak Bessayf” (“حبيتك بالصيف“, what could be translated by “I loved you since the summer” in Lebanese Arabic langage), a mesmerizing & bewitching Oriental Arabic Jazz track with Latin vibes & beautiful piano parts, one of the most iconic & famous song from the Lebanese Diva Nuhad Ḥaddad (betterly known as “Fairuz“) taken from the play “Ya’iche… Ya’iche…” (“He lives… He lives”).

This track was recorded in 1973 and composed by the mythical Assi & Mansour Rahbani Brothers, and released on the mythical “EMI – Parlophone” record label (“Voix De L’Orient” series).

Cherry on the cake : this gorgeous picture of the Diva, taken live by the Lebanese photographer Varoujan Setian, who was the appointed photographer of the Rahbani Brothers’ theatrical company – Enjoy !

For today, I wanted to share with you “Yerazi Bess“, a bewitching Jazz Soul Funk track with Bossa Nova influences, taken from the only LP by the Armenian/Lebanese band Armen Quintet, recorded in 1971 at the mythical “Thunder” recording studios in Toronto (Canada), and that was composed with :

– Garbis Libarian (Vocals, Band leading) ;

– George Kallibjian (Drums, Congas) ;

– Jack DerMagerdijian (Flute) ;

– Kevork Maroukian (Guitar) ;

– Hagop Artinian (Arrangements, Piano, Organ, Saxophone, Bass).

A really beautiful but sadly really hard to find LP nowadays, so hope you’ll like it – Enjoy !

Lord Cobra And Panafro – Colon Colon

For today, I wanted to share with you “Colon Colon“, a gorgeous melancholic Tropical Latin Calypso Soul track with sweet Island Reggae flavors & bewitching guitar parts, recorded on the 30 of November 1970 by the mythical Panamanian producer, composer & musician Wilfred Methusiel Berry Gonin better known as “Lord Cobra“, one of the most important calypsonians, not only in Panamabut throughout the Caribbean, standing out as a troubadour and as a composer.

Among dozens of pieces he composed, we can mention “Banana”, “The Man with the Big Suitcase” and the famous “Baptism”.

This track (my favorite from this artist by far !) was released on the mythical owned by the legendary producer Rodrigo De Jesús Escobar Tamayo – Hope you’ll like it, enjoy !
